Camp Out

To celebrate the unofficial start to summer, we headed out for our first camping trip of the season.  This time joining Grammy and GrampC's church for their annual camping excursion.  We headed back to Pine Grove (outside Jackson) to Gold Country Campground.

This is the same campground we've gone to for the last several trips - well between this and Olema.  This year we shared a premium site with Grammy and GrampC and joined about 40 other people from the church.

Drew of course loved playing in the tent playing "funny things" and make Daddy laugh - which is Drew speak for wanting to fall on and off the air mattresses.  Since we're mean parents and wouldn't let him jump on the "beds".

A few days before the trip, we hit Target up for the last minute necessities.  And of course we wanted to find something fun for Drew - since the balls he brought on the last trip were popped and deflated.  Who lets their kids play with deflated balls?  So we found something new and fun - a bubble gun.  Talk about a hit!

Then it was time for cooking, socializing and of course - wine!

Well since Drew can't have wine, he made friends with the older kids and played with more bubbles.

Daddy and Drew hit the pool up two days in a row, but only had pictures starting Sunday afternoon when they dragged GrampC there as well.  Of course the ladies were out hitting up a few of the Amador County wineries... but there's only proof of the water sports from the guys.

And of course what's a weekend outdoors with a little baseball...

Daddy was so proud that his 2 year old was hitting better than some of the older kids - who all were interested in participating after watching Drew crush a few balls over our tent.

Of course what's a weekend without making some new friends?  Our son is apparently quite the ladies man - drinking with the older women already.

All the kids seemed to really take to Drew who was much more independent this time compared to a year ago when we had to watch him like a hawk.

We're looking forward to several more camping trips this summer.

On a random note - we had ZERO potty accidents this weekend!  Well unless you count the poop that missed the potty and landed on the floor of Grammy's trailer.

Brenda this blog is amazing. I read it all the time so I figure it was time to comment. Drew has gotten so big. He is such a handsome little man. Congrats on a beautiful family!
