We found a way to keep Drew behaving for the next - oh 25 days....
"The Elf on the Shelf" - a story I've heard about for the past two years. Only this year I thought Drew was old enough to understand it, and well, I had an awesome coupon for the package which is normally about $30.
For those that aren't familiar, with "The Elf on the Shelf", it's a story and a little elf that hides in new places throughout the house and reports back to Santa whether the child has been naughty or nice. Part of the fun of this story, is that your child gets to name the elf. Drew named our little guy - Doodle.
So Doodle hangs out at our house and remains silent, but making sure our 3 year old behaves himself. Already a few days in, threatening to tell Doodle when Drew misbehaves.... is working! You see Drew really wants a Mobigo (a video game console for preschoolers) and even told Doodle, so he could also tell Santa.
I see a great relationship forming over the years, between us and Doodle. I highly recommend it for parents of young kids!
