In the News...

As I mentioned in yesterday's post, Dave was quite the celebrity at the Dublin St. Patrick's Day Parade.  Well here's the proof we saw in the TriValley Herald on Sunday, March 14.

Yes that would be my husband, son, Mason and Troy behind them.  Oh and Mr. Mike Wazowski (otherwise known as Brian) bending down behind them.

We watched the news all night on Saturday and my clown husband never made the news.  In fact they showed a view just beyond us!  (Were the glasses a bit much for family news?)

Thanks to Brian for letting us know about the TriValley Herald.  Since we get the Times - and while the papers are affiliated - we didn't see the same thing.

So this is the first time Drew's made it in the news!  Dave has been around that block a few times...

St. Paddy's Day Comes Early

What a perfect weekend for an early St. Patrick's Day celebration - the sun was shining, the temperature was just right - and the kids were ready to rock and roll!

On Saturday we ventured out for the second year to the Dublin St. Paddy's Day parade with Ms. Stephanie, Brian, Mason and Troy.  It was so much better this year - not only because it there were more entries, but because we weren't freezing our butts off!

Since this is going to be pretty photo heavy, I'll spare you from all the reading....

Drew's favorite commercial at the moment - Geiko, the Gecko gives Drew a High Five.

And Dave was approached by a parade member for a hug.  Then they interviewed him for their YouTube campaign.

Well that wasn't the only media attention.  Dave's attire stood out to the media as well.  Both from the local CBS affiliate and the local paper.  Here I'm catching them on camera.

After the parade was over we headed down the street to the St. Patrick's Day festival.  We instantly headed over to the rides where Drew was excited to join Mason and Troy in the cars.

But once the ride started, and the car went up and down rather quickly he wasn't so sure anymore.

After trying to scope out a few more not-so-scary rides, Drew finally settled on the teacups with Daddy.  Although once he got on he was no longer so excited.

We made our exit in the early afternoon in hopes of Drew getting a nap in - no luck there.  The good news is that Daylight Savings was starting, so the extra hour of sleep hopefully means bedtime will go rather easily.

Scrapbook Saturday - Baked in Tradition

This page is inspired by a tradition dating back to long before I was born.  Sometime after Thanksgiving, but before Christmas, the ladies on my side of the family bake cookies.  Once we moved to California, my Mom and I kept up this tradition, and would bake Christmas cookies.  Finally this year I took pictures!

And here's the scrapbook result.  I had some embellishments given to me for Christmas a few years ago.  The paper was a cream colored paper, and a snowflake second sheet I glued on. 

The glove was free-handed, and then the mat was free-handed.  I rounded the corners on the photos as well.

You Make Me Feel Like Dancing

The Wiggles may say "You Make Me Feel Like Dancing" but after hearing this DVD nonstop for now four days in a row, I think I need to change the name of this movie. Something like "You Make Me Feel Like Wearing Ear Plugs".

I mentioned earlier this week that Drew was at my parents last weekend while Dave and I enjoyed a weekend alone - or should I say recovering from a hangover - but I digress.  My parents have this DVD at their house and I'm sure they had the "pleasure" of watching/hearing it over and over again.

Well on Tuesday we went to the library to return our movies - we check out Signing Time and other movies quite regularly - when Drew spotted this movie on the shelf.  Unfortunately for me, the "W" movies are right at his eye level and he can spot the Wiggles from a mile away.  Drew eagerly pulled this from the shelves.  He knew that this was the "Grammy and GrampC Wiggles".  I guess he was feeling nostalgic. 

So needless to say we haven't been able to give our ears a break from the non-stop viewing of this video.

Pre-Pre-School

So it looks like we're getting an early start to pre-school. I was tossing around the idea of starting Drew the beginning August, rather than the end, when it officially starts. Well I guess that should read - we had already decided to do that, but I just didn't notify the school of my plans yet - just a small detail. (The school has a really fun summer session of "lessons" - more like learning disguised as having fun.)

Well due to changes in circumstances - my business trip and Ms. Stephanie's vacation - Drew will be starting pre-school the last week in July. Why does one whole week seem like it's sooooo much earlier? Probably because it means Drew will be a "big boy" starting school.

Wow, time sneaks up on you so quickly.

In other news, Dave is completely recovered from his pneumonia. Actually he was fine last Friday - I just never updated you.

Cell Phone Discoveries

What a great modern convenience it is to have cell phones with the capability of taking photos and videos.  I mean you can whip out your cell phone at say... Target... and no one will think you're a secret shopper from Walmart looking to steal trade secrets or anything.

Nah, I was just on a different kind of covert operation with my partner.

You know in search of a new purse and some pull-ups.

In other cases the video camera feature on your cell phone is quite handy when you're too lazy to search for the real thing, or you suspect the real thing's batteries are dead.  Yeah, we'll go with the latter on that one.

To set you up for this video, Drew has a new fascination for "America's Funniest Home Videos" which he calls "Fall Down".  So here he is doing his impersonation of AFV.



Now if they could make cell phones remind you that you snapped a picture or video.... There must be an Ap for that.

Car Tunes

On Sunday we were happy to pick up our little boy who spent the weekend with Grammy and GrampC so we could enjoy a day out around the Napa/Sonoma area.  Well the car ride home was quite entertaining.  Dave first threw on some Prince and "Raspberry Beret" or as Drew calls it "Numbers".

And then a bit later in the car ride, Drew was serenading us to some Godsmack, "I Stand Alone" and "Take me Out to the Ballgame".
