You Make Me Feel Like Dancing

The Wiggles may say "You Make Me Feel Like Dancing" but after hearing this DVD nonstop for now four days in a row, I think I need to change the name of this movie. Something like "You Make Me Feel Like Wearing Ear Plugs".

I mentioned earlier this week that Drew was at my parents last weekend while Dave and I enjoyed a weekend alone - or should I say recovering from a hangover - but I digress.  My parents have this DVD at their house and I'm sure they had the "pleasure" of watching/hearing it over and over again.

Well on Tuesday we went to the library to return our movies - we check out Signing Time and other movies quite regularly - when Drew spotted this movie on the shelf.  Unfortunately for me, the "W" movies are right at his eye level and he can spot the Wiggles from a mile away.  Drew eagerly pulled this from the shelves.  He knew that this was the "Grammy and GrampC Wiggles".  I guess he was feeling nostalgic.

So needless to say we haven't been able to give our ears a break from the non-stop viewing of this video.

So you can share in my pain and suffering - here's a clip I found on YouTube.

Dave and I cannot get this song our of our heads now!  Oh and you can thank me later if I've done the same to you.

Wiggle Dance in Your Undies

So many momentous milestones in our little 2 year old's life in the past few weeks.

A) He gets a big boy bed
B) We turned in the paperwork for preschool (not sure if he's in yet)
C) Drew finally puts on underwear for the first time

So what does Drew do? He hops on top of his toy box and starts dancing and wiggling in his Wiggles undies! Of course that's the pair that we actually get him to wear. The past few weeks it's been massive screaming fits just suggesting he put on his underwear. Offer up his beloved "Johnny" and voila.

Drew was absolutely hamming it up watching himself in his new attire. What really had us rolling was when he was "shake, shake, shake... shake, shake, shake, shake your booty" in the mirror!

So we put him in his undies while we were getting him ready for bed - and he stayed in them until bedtime. No accidents.

Last night I put him in them shortly after we got home from day care, and we had our first accident about an hour later. Despite my asking him if he had to go "make water" every 15 minutes, I guess he was too distracted playing with his hot wheels. Our 2nd accident... at dinner.

It's a work in progress, but at least we're making progress! He put on his undies. No one told me how adorable the tushie would be once the bulky diapers were off. Now the big question will be - how to make the pants that barely fit around the waist fit with a diaper... fit without the diaper.

Keep the comments coming. You can help the local food bank simply by leaving a comment - that's it! How hard is that? Right now I'm up to 9 comments - so keep them coming. I have one person offering to match my donations as well, so please show some love. All the details are here - and you can comment on other blogs as well participating in the Cans for Comments Drive.

A Wiggly Good Time

It was the much anticipated Wiggles Concert - Drew's early birthday present from Mommy and Daddy! We drove to San Jose's HP Pavilion to join hundreds of toddlers and preschoolers for "The Wiggles Go Bananas" concert. Or as Drew likes to call the Wiggles "Johnny" (as in Johnny & the Sprites which used to come on the Disney Channel before the Wiggles).

We arrived about 6pm and picked up our few mandatory expensive souvenirs before finding our seats (which were not what I'd call "Best Available" which is what we paid for, but let's keep a positive spin on this blog). The show started about 10 minutes late - which means around 6:40pm, and Drew was starting to get antsy.

As soon as the arena darkened, and the songs started coming on - out popped Jeff (Purple Wiggle). Drew was so excited, his eyes got big and all! He was on sensory overload we think for the first part of the concert, but he really got into parts of it! He loved seeing the Big Red Car come on stage, seeing Murry and Sam (Red & Yellow Wiggle) come through the audience. Mommy loved watching Anthony (Blue Wiggle or the cute one ) shake his thing and do some stunts.

Drew had an absolute blast! How do we know you ask? When we were leaving this morning for Ms. Stephanie's, he was asking to go see the Wiggles again. Poor kid had to settle for the CD that was in my car.

Here are a few snapshots - sorry some of them aren't the greatest of quality... my camera doesn't do well with dark or distance shots....

All the Wiggles!

Again, too caught up in the show to say cheese.

Wiggle-Mania

We're planning to "Go Bananas" this July. As an early 2nd birthday present for Drew we're taking him to see a live performance of his favorite show... "The Wiggles".

Just see how much Drew loves his "Johnny"... otherwise known as the Wiggles.

On Sunday we made the leap to just buy the tickets for the Show in July. We were tossing back and forth whether we should really go to the show (it's in San Jose during rush hour) or whether we should try and make an Elmo Show next weekend.

At the Ticketmaster location we let Drew make the decision - whether to see Johnny or Elmo. Guess who won... the more expensive option!

Honestly, we're really looking forward to the show - his first official concert. Dave & I get so tired of the Wiggles movies (we are known to actually hide the DVD's), but Drew absolutely loves them, that we're thrilled to do this for him. Should be a good time!

Johnny - a.k.a "The Wiggles"

I'm sure I've mentioned it before - my kid has a fascination with "The Wiggles". I swear we watch the same movie at least 2-3 times a day. Drew has always called Yellow Wiggle - Johnny. I believe because in the previous Disney Channel line-up "The Wiggles" followed "Johnny and the Sprites". Thus - Johnny followed Johnny!

Well during Drew's sick day on Friday, I had the "fortunate" pleasure of watching Johnny about 4 times in a row. LOVELY. At one point Drew was singing and dancing with the music, and then decided to have a conversation with Johnny, who was hiding amid his dance troupe:

As of this morning Drew seems to be okay - the fever is about 99.4 - which is in the teething-as-the-culprit range. He has a runny/stuffy nose, and woke up last night at 12:30 am and ended up sleeping in our bed so he could elevate himself and eliminate the gagging. Oy.....
