Silver Anniversary

Better late than never... we celebrated Tata and Abuela's 25th anniversary/vow renewal 3 weeks after the first attempt.  So while I was down in Southern California for work and Dave and Drew were coming down, they had the Hawaiian themed party that weekend.

I was a bit late - along with the camera because of work, but here are the pictures I managed to capture.

The "first dance"

Prepping for the vow renewal.  The Ring bearer - Drew gets ready.

"Bankers" - the Best Man from 25 years ago 'officiates' the ceremony this time around.

Exchanging the vows

Here comes the ring bearer...
This could've been the first or second attempt.  Not enough cameras were ready so we did a "re-do".

Awwww....

Speeches...

Trying to keep the 4 year old occupied and out of trouble during the lengthy speeches

And there was some dancing after the speeches.  Clearly I had a willing partner...

The reason that Tata and Abuela are together today - David's Brother Bobby and his wife Norma.

And our final goodbye.

It's Our Anniversary!

This is the first anniversary in seven years I won't be able to spend it with the man I married.  That's because I boarded a plane this morning for Seattle, to attend a work conference.

Despite not being home to celebrate on the actual day, I am grateful that we can celebrate our 7th anniversary year round with the little things....

... like Drew.  We have the most amazingly smart, hilarious and healthy 4 year old.

We take time for each other - even if it's only a few minutes.

We really don't sweat the small stuff.  At the end of the day it's almost all small stuff.

And we grow more and more in love with each other every day.

I think that's what makes our marriage work - we work at it.  And you know things are going well when you sit back and realize that the past seven years just flew by... when it doesn't feel like it could be more than 3 or 4 years.

OK enough with the mushy stuff, I'll let you get on with your day.  I just wanted to share with Dave that I love you sweetie!  Happy Anniversary and I wish I could be there.

"Iron" - Man and Wife

I read somewhere that starting the 6th year of marriage you're entering "truly devoted" years (6-25th anniversary).  Prior to that you're newlyweds - really?  Well today Dave and I celebrate six years of marriage - our Iron Anniversary.

Some say that iron shows the durability of your marriage.  I'd say that we're pretty durable with everything that goes with a family, work, friends, our extended family and all the good and bad that life throws at you daily.

And I wouldn't want to spend those daily moments with anyone else, but my one and only - my best friend and husband.

Anniversary Celebration!

As you saw, Friday was our 5th Anniversary.  I got home from a full week of travel and had Dave get Drew from day care.  Then we had a family lunch of McDonald's.

Then it was time for a much needed nap - for Mama anyway.  Drew finally crashed on the couch.  By the time we woke up we were running late.  We were sending Drew to a sitter for the evening while we went out to dinner - Benihana - mmmmmmm.

Yes that would be us doing sake bombers in that second picture, and the picture above is a heart that our "cook" made for us.  Lucky for us we had an awesome group of people at our table - they were out for a birthday party.

It was a great evening!  Can't wait for the next 5!

Celebrating 5 Wonderful Years

I'm hurrying home today after a full week on the road for work (and a few days of personal time for Pat's Run).  That's because it's our Anniversary!  Hard to imagine it's been half a decade since Dave and I tied the knot.

That's right - today is our 5th Wedding Anniversary.  It's amazing how much time flies when you're having fun.  It was a wet rainy day, and I made a last minute decision to move the outdoor Ceremony indoors.  However it stopped raining just long enough for us to take photos outside.

It was a wonderful day - one I'll never forget.  And a day Dave and I still talk about.  Yes we compare everyone's wedding to our own.. I mean who doesn't?
I love this man who is my best friend.  My supporter.  My confidant.  And the father to our beautiful little boy.

Happy Anniversary Sweetie!

Happy 4th Anniversary!

Wow - 4 years ago today, Dave and I were saying our "I Do's" at Wine & Roses in Lodi. It was a perfect day - despite the fact the outdoor ceremony was moved indoors.

For the record - Dave did cry first - but he denies it since no one caught that on camera. Why is it everyone had to be focusing on the bride at that very moment?

Four years later, we're happier than ever. We have a great life together, and we have a beautiful little boy - who makes us laugh all the time.

We're celebrating our anniversary this weekend, with dinner and a movie (Drew is going for a sleepover at Grammy & GrampC's). However Dave did come to pick me up this afternoon for our lunch date (Mexican food) with a bouquet of flowers and a balloon. After all the traditional 4th Anniversary gift is flowers or fruit. I can't say yet what I got Dave since he hasn't opened it yet....

Happy Anniversary Sweetie - I love you!
