So Much To See and Do

What a trip back East!  We did so much and I took an insane amount of pictures!  So over the next several days expect to be inundated with an obscene amount of pictures and details of our trip to New York for Dave's sister Brianna's College Graduation.

First up, our trip to Taughannock Falls State Park - where Brianna had her graduation party gathering for family and friends.  Dave, Drew and I showed up at the slotted time because Drew was getting antsy in the hotel room.  Everyone else showed up about an hour-and-half later.  We made the best of the time while we waited - enjoying the scenery.

When everyone arrived we enjoyed lunch and playing catch, baseball and throwing rocks.

Drew even gave fishing a try!  It lasted a whopping 2-3 minutes.

Shortly after those group shots we took an amazing hike to see the park's waterfall.  Boy am I glad we did it!  It was definitely one of the highlights of this trip.

Then we finally made it to the waterfall.  It was beautiful!  This first shot is the view from the bridge.

But we could get much closer... and get wet!

Here Drew is trying to hide from the mist.  This "lookout" is about 30 yards from the fall itself.  And from the park's website... "The falls cataract has an incredible drop of 215 feet, and is one of the highest east of the Rocky Mountains."

After playing in the water we hiked the 20-30 minutes back to our site.  And that's when I captured this precious shot of Drew and Grandpa Tim looking at the birds that flew by. 

OK I think that's enough photo-blasting you for one day.

That's what you find on your phone when you try to keep your 3YO quiet on a 6 hour flight. I couldn't tell you how many voice memos I erased this morning either. Until this weekend I didn't even know I had a voice memo feature!

Home Again, Home Again

I'm in the San Mateo Bridge blogging - that's a first for me. There are three of us who are happy to be on California soil and off the airplane.

Drew was amazing on the flights in both directions. Only one puke-fest on the before we even left San Francisco. Thankfully he made it into the barf bag. Too much lemonade we think.





I will have more pictures from our trip over the next few days.

That was one long ass bridge.

Bat Outta Hell

So the end of the world didn't hit on Saturday, but something sure did hit me.  Right between the legs in fact!  It was a bat outta hell.... literally!

This damn bat flew right between my legs when I was sitting at my sister-in-law Brianna's College Graduation Party at a State Park.

I'm sitting there cross-legged, minding my own business when I felt something fly into my leg.  I'm thinking it's a big moth or some other flying insect.  Not a freakin' "rodent"! (and before you correct me, I know bats aren't really rodents, but this sucker was!)

After that heart attack the sucker climbed/flew into the tree where everyone else had a chance to witness my batman.  By the end of the night, we were telling stories about how "my bat" had a 5 foot wingspan.  In reality the sucker was about the size of my fist.  I'm scarred for life regardless.

All together now... ewwwwww!

It Pays to Behave

Because Drew was such a exceptional child this past weekend for Auntie Lisa's wedding (Thursday - Sunday) I figured he deserved to get a little something special. Someplace where they let a kid be a kid.

So I was a good Mama and took him to Chuck E Cheese. On a rainy day. And we had dinner.

He was awesome the hour-fifteen we were there too - didn't argue with me when it was time to leave. He ate all his dinner.

I almost don't recognize this child, but I really do enjoy him. I'm hoping he sticks around for another busy weekend!

Dancing Machine

Yes, more wedding tidbits....

Before I get to the fun dancing pictures, here are a few more of our family pre-ceremony.

Once we ate dinner and the dancing began, hardly anyone was on the dance floor.  It was only Drew and I, and Jimmy's Brother, Sister-in-law and their 1 year old daughter.  Mind you there were nearly 70 wedding guests.  Since it was slow on the dance floor Drew requested one of his favorite songs, hoping to get people moving and shaking... Eye of the Tiger by Survivor.

Drew put on the moves!  Starting first with his "funny dance". 

And then he really had the Eye of the Tiger... and had to do his Rocky push-ups.  (Did you notice he switched into his "Rocky shoes?")

And then while dancing with Mommy (a.k.a. Adrian) he had to practice his Rocky moves on Daddy who was trying to interrupt the dance.

Poor kid was so exhausted that night he fell asleep in Dave's arms around 9pm and then slept the rest of the evening next to Aunt Connie on the booth chairs in the dining area.  In the words of Drew... "It was a BUSY weekend".
