It Pays to Behave

Because Drew was such a exceptional child this past weekend for Auntie Lisa's wedding (Thursday - Sunday) I figured he deserved to get a little something special. Someplace where they let a kid be a kid.

So I was a good Mama and took him to Chuck E Cheese. On a rainy day. And we had dinner.

He was awesome the hour-fifteen we were there too - didn't argue with me when it was time to leave. He ate all his dinner.

I almost don't recognize this child, but I really do enjoy him. I'm hoping he sticks around for another busy weekend!

Sizing it Up

Talk about cheap thrills!  Drew found the measuring tape in my bedroom this weekend, and he's decided it's his new favorite toy.

I mean he spent hours in our room, just watching the numbers slide through his hand.  First forward, then backward.  Then he decided he wanted Daddy to play doggy with him.

Play doggy?

Yeah, that means Daddy runs through the house wagging the measuring tape back and forth while Drew crawls chasing after it.

Oh my, I think my child's a little odd.

Wake Up and Smell the Coffee

First - thank you to everyone who left comments on my blog this past week. I am turning all 23 comments into 23 non-perishable goods for a local food bank. I even had someone to match my donations and will have a separate post on this later this week.

It's no secret. My child has some odd tendencies. Case in point what we found him doing Friday night.

Picture it, Dave and I sitting on the couch watching a movie, when suddenly these muffled giggles are emanating from where our child was supposed to be eating dinner. I turn around to discover this:


Yes, that's Drew inhaling from the coffee can. Only it's no longer coffee inside, but his markers and crayons.

Easy entertainment for about 15 minutes as he's shove his face inside and make silly noises and laugh contagiously at the muffled sound it made. For the record, it's this behavior that makes him Dave's child. :)

Specialty: Organizational Skills

Typically men aren't exactly known for their organizational skills. I mean isn't that why they get married, so wives will keep them on track, and find their keys, or their shoes...

Who knew, at 2 years old you can begin to establish behaviors that most men never possess.


Yes, Drew has now taken up organizing and lining up his cars! He first runs them over the arm of the couch. Picks them up, brings them over to the stash of cars and lines them up! Now if only he'd pick up his toys....
