Softball season has started for Dave - so every Monday & Wednesday I'm a softball widow. Last night's game was a 6pm game, and at 1am Dave still wasn't home. Get my drift? Softball widow.
So Drew and I made the most of the start for the season, and we had a date night. Drew got to pick the restaurant of choice - I was thinking IHOP since kids eat free after 4pm... but Drew REALLY wanted Applebees.
He really loves that place. So we had a great date night, just Drew and Mama. What a great kid he was! I love these moments - when he's polite, funny and just a plain old good kid. Of course dinner took 2 hours since he savored his chicken and french fries, but he gobbled them up! We came home had a bath, and then watched YouTube (his request) for a bit before bed.
As an extra special treat he got to fall asleep in our bed with me last night. Just a great evening with my little punkin' head.

Our Little Rocky
Oh the joys of living in a house with men/boys. Farting. Sports. Rocky.
I may have mentioned before, that Drew has to fall asleep to "Gonna Fly Now" ever since Dave introduced that CD to him. So now whenever he hears that song, he has to stop what he's doing and watch.
While I was sick last week, apparently Rocky II was on TV, and it happened upon the part where this song comes on... only it's the "kids" singing it. I guess Dave has this version playing in his car when he goes to pick up Drew.
Well what you see here is the result every time he watches this clip.
"Lucky" for us, Dave has a copy of Rocky II so we can watch this clip, over, and over, and over and over again.

Bunny Hop
On Easter Sunday we did the Bunny Hop for sure. It started at our house bright and early in the morning when Drew woke up and found all of the hidden eggs.
This process went by far faster than eitherDave or I the Easter Bunny thought. Here we thought the eggs were a little difficult - well in comparison to last year - but apparently not. I think he was studying his video from last year's egg hunt on YouTube a little too much. Anyway I didn't get any photos of that, only video (I told you he went too fast) - and I haven't had a chance to put it together yet.
I did however get pictures of Drew checking out his basket loot.
After we all got dressed we headed over to church early for the breakfast gathering and Egg Hunt they hosted there. I still wasn't feeling 100% and really didn't want to make breakfast with all my cooties so it was an easy out for me, a fun adventure for Drew and a guaranteed seat in a church that was expected to be a packed house.
Lucky for us the rain held off for a bit. After church we went over to Grammy and GrampC's house for the Easter Dinner and gathering. You could find all the usual suspects there - including Uncle Matt who stopped by while working to use the facilities (too many eggs at his own house that day). This was the first time Drew saw Uncle Matt dressed for work.
It turns out that the Easter Bunny appeared at Grammy and GrampC's house as well - with a basket from his grandparents and GG. Lucky little boy!
Despite the lack of a nap for the second day in a row now, he was a fairly good kid. He and cousin Kady had a good time running around the house chasing after each other.

Surgery & Nightmares
For the couple of weeks Drew has gotten rather attached to two babies. One is no stranger - Dodger Dog, and the other comes out from time-to-time, Baby.
Last week, Drew really started having some night terrors. He would wake up in the middle of the night crying for Mommy or Daddy. One night he said he saw a man in his room - of course that was my shift and it freaked me out a bit... I calmly told him only Mommy & Drew were in his room (I admit to peeking outside his window and over toward his closet). I then laid with him and slept with him for the remainder of the night.
Then when he woke up that morning he proceeded to tell Dave to kids were at the side of his bed. Could Drew be seeing ghosts? Or is it an overactive imagination?
And to top it all off, Dodger Dog accidentally went for a swim courtesy Daddy. See Dodger Dog got lost in Drew's laundry, and when Daddy was helping Dodger Dog got a bath. Problem was it made Dodger Dog's bark go off randomly for no reason - it used to only go off if you gave his belly a squeeze. But this pooch had it out for Drew and would only randomly bark at night just as Drew was about to fall asleep. You can imagine how much that freaks a two-year old out!
Well after a few torturous weeks of this and a few attempts to keep him quiet (the anti-bark collar and the doghouse) I finally put Dodger Dog under the knife. Yes I ripped him open from the rear and pulled the little contraption out. After sewing him back up, he was safe in the arms of his master - and slept peacefully. Everyone is now living happily ever after.

Happy Easter!
Wishing everyone a very Blessed Easter! I hope you're spending the day with family and loved ones. We are doing the same - I'm well enough to make my rounds in public.
Here are a few pictures of Drew dying Easter eggs at our house yesterday afternoon.

He loved it. Can you tell?

Scrapbook Saturday - Adorable
I recently had a chance to get some scrapbooking done with my best friend Lisa last month - and for the next few weeks I'll showcase my accomplishments.
Today it's the page titled: Adorable.
This was a page I believe I started a few weeks earlier when I was scrapping with my Mom, but never finished. All I'd done is select the photo and the blue paper and tore out the maroonish color side. When I went back to it, I decided on the matting and found a cute little tag on Lisa's new Cricut (she has the big one, we have the little one).
I then stamped the words Adorable across the bottom of the page, and used Lisa's Cricut again to make the swirls. I liked the reverse effect a lot too, so I threw one of those in there. A very simple page, but yet cute!

Who Said Moms Can Get Sick?
Well this has been a "fun" last few days. I started to get sick Wednesday afternoon, and my fever quickly climbed from 100.9 to 103.3.
Thursday I couldn't hold anything down from the hours of midnight to about 9am. A trip to the doctor only gave me the disappointing news that I have a flu/virus and I need to ride it out. In other words, no drugs to make it all go away.
Later that afternoon the fever climbed to 105. SoI dragged myself out of bed - very unwillingly I may add - to the shower to try and bring the temp down. I managed to bring it down about 2 degrees immediately so I popped more Advil and fell back to sleep.
Poor Drew comes home and just doesn't understand why I won't get out of bed and play with him. Although he did bring a little something he made home from day care and it did have some healing power - a little Easter Egg that he painted. Very sweet!
Today the fever is down a bit - ranging anywhere from 100 - 102, but I have a sore throat from hell right now! I desperately began looking for relief in the medicine cabinets for some throat spray or lozenges. I managed to find the last one in the house... I think Dave will be making yet another CVS run today. Poor guy. He has had to deal with a lot the last few days, but he's a trooper. Now if only Drew would cooperate for him....
And since this post is such a downer, here's a cute picture of Drew Ms Stephanie sent me yesterday.
