Date Night

Softball season has started for Dave - so every Monday & Wednesday I'm a softball widow.  Last night's game was a 6pm game, and at 1am Dave still wasn't home.  Get my drift?  Softball widow.

So Drew and I made the most of the start for the season, and we had a date night.  Drew got to pick the restaurant of choice - I was thinking IHOP since kids eat free after 4pm... but Drew REALLY wanted Applebees.

He really loves that place.  So we had a great date night, just Drew and Mama.  What a great kid he was!  I love these moments - when he's polite, funny and just a plain old good kid.  Of course dinner took 2 hours since he savored his chicken and french fries, but he gobbled them up!  We came home had a bath, and then watched YouTube (his request) for a bit before bed.

As an extra special treat he got to fall asleep in our bed with me last night.  Just a great evening with my little punkin' head.

Eating Veggies?

For more than a year now, it's a struggle to get Drew to eat much of anything other than chicken and french fries. The other night for dinner, we stumbled into Applebees, where we proceeded to order him a grilled cheese with fries.

Typically everything we're eating looks very appetizing to Drew - until he tastes it. Well this time he kept at one of our menu items...

Onion Rings. He loved them! Who knew? So does this count as eating his veggies?

I'm kidding of course. Now if we could only get him to eat something nutritious.

Silly Supper

Alright so here in California we call it dinner, but we're coming up with the title in honor of our Minnesota/Wisconsin readers.

On Friday I had to pay up on a NFL football bet I had with Dave (we have a weekly wager on who picks the most correct football games - and I lost. This week's wager, dinner out at the place the winner picks). Well Dave picked Tahoe Joe's - a steakhouse.

Drew was in a fantastic mood, and gobbled up the Chicken and French Fries we ordered for him. He was so good, that he was chatting with the little boy in the booth nearby, who was celebrating his first birthday.

After dinner was over and we were paying for the check, Daddy and Drew were hamming it up for the camera....
