Our Guitar Hero

Drew is our new little rocker.  Grammy and GrampC have a banjo in their family room that's off limits to the kids.  And for whatever reason this weekend, Drew decided he wanted to play guitar.  So Grammy handed him a little ukulele that Uncle Matt brought back from his recent trip to Hawaii.

Drew was a fan of the "guitar" - which he asked Grammy to initially "turn on".  Apparently my child knows about electric guitars?

Here's Drew strumming his guitar -

And then his impersonation of a rocker playing over his head...

I think Drew has found a new toy to play with when he heads to Grammy and GrampC's.

Our Little Rocky

Oh the joys of living in a house with men/boys.  Farting.  Sports. Rocky.

I may have mentioned before, that Drew has to fall asleep to "Gonna Fly Now" ever since Dave introduced that CD to him.  So now whenever he hears that song, he has to stop what he's doing and watch.

While I was sick last week, apparently Rocky II was on TV, and it happened upon the part where this song comes on... only it's the "kids" singing it.  I guess Dave has this version playing in his car when he goes to pick up Drew.

Well what you see here is the result every time he watches this clip.

"Lucky" for us, Dave has a copy of Rocky II so we can watch this clip, over, and over, and over and over again.

Rocky vs. The Dragon

Lucky you - it's a double post kind of day...

The boxing gloves are coming out at night lately and there's a new battle brewing, and well... "Let's Get Ready to RUMBLE!"

That's right, Drew now has temporarily put away "Green Eggs and Ham" and is now focusing on two new items.

First he has a new book he likes to read - or rather sing to. He calls it a few things including "Honalee" and "Lived by the Sea".This was a Christmas gift, and took a backseat temporarily to Dr. Seuss, but after "hiding" Green Eggs" we've finally gotten several reads in. He's also asked to listen to the CD as he falls asleep - it's great with a few songs on it.

Although, the other grown-up in the house has had his influence lately. See, Daddy introduced Drew to the soundtrack for Rocky. So what does Drew say when he hears the first song "Eye of the Tiger"?

That sounds like Mommy's phone. Yes, that's my cell phone ring tone for Dave. Clearly Dave calls me a lot.

So while this music is playing Drew is busy strutting his "Rocky arms" in the mirror in his room. And if you've seen Drew's "guns" you know it's quite "impressive". (note sarcasm)

Drew has asked to have "Rocky" sing him to sleep at night too. Dave was so proud. I think if we have more kids, I need a girl. I need someone on my side.
