Softball Champs

Dave spent much of the year playing Softball - thankfully he went uninjured (at least seriously) in the 2 or 3 seasons he played this year.  He is in two leagues in nearby cities.  And in his Thursday League - which moved to Tuesday - they won the championship.... TWICE!  Here are pictures from the party/BBQ Drew and I were invited to back in August I believe.

Like Father, Like Son

We were able to go swimming as well as enjoy dinner and company.   Here is the host as well as teammate of Dave's.

The guys all signed the game ball.

It's rare that Dave lets us out with the softball guys... and Drew had a great time in the pool with the other kids.

A League of Their Own

Dave has played in a softball team since we moved to this community 6 years ago. He joined the Monday/Tuesday group first and the a year or two later the Wednesday night league.

Drew and I try to make it to the 6pm games when we can - which is maybe once a season and almost never to the Wednesday night games. Those are further away and it's cooler in Walnut Creek in the evenings.

The other night the stars and moon aligned because not only could we make the game, but it was also their annual BBQ!

Drew managed to hit on one of the girls... The coach's daughter.

He was probably carving their initials in the tree.

Daddy's Biggest Fan

Monday night was one of Daddy's softball nights (he plays ball on Monday and Wednesdays - separate leagues), and in a rare occurrence the game was early enough we could cheer him on. Of course the two pictures I took of Daddy showed more of the fence than of him. So you get to see how Drew passed the time.

He happily played with his cars across the bleachers, walked across the bleachers, and made goo-goo eyes at one of the girlfriends of Daddy's teammates. A couple of times he'd cheer on his Daddy, or if it was another player up to bat - he's shout "Go Manny". Oh, it didn't matter what team they were with.

Unfortunately we didn't win - lost it in the final inning. But Drew had a fantastic time! And of course ate up all the attention he was getting.

Softball Fun

Daddy plays softball for two leagues - Pleasanton on Mondays and Walnut Creek on Wednesday evenings. Well this past Monday the game was early enough that we all were able to tag along (it doesn't happen very often).

Daddy loves having an audience and hit another homerun for his favorite fan. Unfortunately Drew was busy playing and wandering off that the said audience missed the action - oops. Good thing Daddy's team won!

Drew kept trying to wander into the dugout and afterward enjoyed getting Daddy's attention - his favorite, wearing Daddy's sweaty hat... ewww!

Throughout the game, Drew was busy playing with the little boy from the birthday party this past weekend. The two of them had a great time just laughing and mimicking each other. Boys...
