The Gingerbread Man Musical

Last Tuesday Drew's Kindergarten class put on a Musical for the parents...

Here is the program

Yes our son was the fox.  While we learned what his part was a few days before the show (because he had to be dressed a certain way) we didn't realize what this meant.  So Dave and I walked him to school and I saw him starting to get into his costume - a red turtleneck made to look like the body of a fox.  We were told to have black pants on underneath.

So when he arrived on stage we were shocked he wasn't wearing the costume rather the sweat pants and shirt we sent him in.  We'd have dressed him a little nicer if we knew he was going to refuse to wear the costume (he said the turtleneck was choking him).

So here's the class before the performance... Drew is off to the right between the stands and his teacher.

It was really cute - and we were so proud of Drew for having a big part in the show!

This Little Piggy Went to Church

If you didn't get enough cuteness, performances or videos on yesterday's post... get ready for another dose! (If you're tired of them, well just suck it up... we're proud parents and can't help but show off our little piggy).

On Sunday night, it was the Children's Program at church, and Drew being in his first year of Sunday School was able to participate in it.  His class was dressed up as the animals that were seen in the stable where Jesus was born.  Our little animal.... an unhappy....

Yes our kid's a pig!  He was not happy to be put into costume.  It didn't help matters he was forced awake from a much needed nap about 30 minutes earlier than this photo.

Daddy was able to get a shot of this little piggy entering church.  There was only a slight hiccup when he didn't know where to go...



Once he got up front, he seemed to warm up a little bit.

During the song Angels We Have Heard on High"  Drew was able to wave his stars around.  Luckily no eyes were poked out by any dancing stars.

Of course as we neared the end of the service, Drew stopped fidgeting, whining and fighting everything to ham it up for the congregation.

And he was good for a laugh all the way to the end, when this little runt... er.... piggy wanted to stop in the middle of the aisle.  Thankfully some of the other moms followed behind him (I on the other hand stayed out of the spotlight as much as possible and met him at the back of the church).

Drew was so happy that he had some familiar faces in the congregation.  Grammy and GrampC made another trip out toward us to see his first Sunday School performance.  What a lucky little boy.  His "icing on the cake" was to have nachos for dinner - there was a Mexican/chili dinner afterward.  That made this little piggy cry wee-wee-wee all the way home.

Christmas Pageant

Drew attended his first Christmas Pageant this weekend. The star of the night - his little friend Mason (Ms. Stephanie's oldest son who just turned 4). It was a big night and we started the festivities when we picked Drew up - with pizza.

Then we headed over to the preschool/church where Mason attends (and where Troy will go soon, and where they suggest Drew to go as well). Drew was enamored with the the fact Mason was able to go on stage, so before the kids came out, we let him get his 15 minutes of fame...



















Drew's little buddy (Ms. Stephanie's nearly 3 year old son) was hamming it up himself as Super Troy.


Then the preschoolers came out, and sang their carols. It was so awesome to see them all dressed in white angel robes and their little halos. I managed to grab a few shots of Mason before all the kids filled in - and had a shot of him looking forward. He was mesmerized by the big screen shot of the Manger. It was like a big TV and he couldn't take his eyes off of it.

(Mason is on the far left). Drew loved watching all the kids and listening to the carols they were singing.

It's hard to believe that it could be one year from now and we'll be watching DREW on that stage....

We all had a fantastic time and we're really lucky that Ms. Stephanie let us tag along. Drew was so enthralled with all the kids - oh and the cookies and juice afterward.
